Mortuary Service
Aberdeen City Council provide and staff a mortuary facility for all deaths which the Procurator Fiscal may require a post mortem to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death. This mortuary facility which forms part of Grampian Police Headquarters at Queen Street, Aberdeen is also used for the storage of bodies from Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils
Mortuary staff will assist the Pathologists during the Post Mortem examination and will ensure that bodies are suitably stored until they are formally released to family members for burial or cremation.
