Fortnightly collections of mixed recycling bins
Your mixed recycling bin must be out for collection by 7am on your scheduled day.
Your mixed recycling bin is for disposal of paper, card, metal, plastic and glass.
- No excess waste/recycling can be left on the street next to the bin.
- All waste/recycling should be put into the bin loose, not in plastic bags, as it will be sorted later.
- Please rinse and flatten items as much as possible before putting them in your bin.
What you can recycle
You can put all of the following items in your mixed recycling bin.
Paper and card
- Envelopes (including windows)
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Leaflets
- Office paper
- Phone books
- Brochures
- Catalogues
- Greetings cards
- Wrapping paper (please remove any tape or bows)
- Shredded paper (please keep it together in a paper bag or envelope)
Cardboard
- Cereal boxes
- Food and drink cartons (such as tetra paks), including lids and tops
- Egg boxes
- Toilet roll tubes
- Cardboard packaging
- Cardboard boxes
Metals
- Drinks cans
- Food tins
- Aerosol cans
- Aluminium foil
- Foil trays
- Metal lids
- Biscuit tins
Plastic containers
- Food and fruit trays
- Drinks bottles
- Milk bottles
- Yoghurt pots
- Sauce bottles

What you can't recycle
Please do not put any of the following items in your mixed recycling bin:
- Plastic bags or black bags
- Plastic film and bubble wrap
- Food or garden waste
- Polystyrene or foam trays
- Packaging which has food residue on it
- Nappies
- Drinking glasses or Pyrex
- Photographs and photography paper
- Electrical items, including batteries and vapes.

Additional waste
Please do not leave any extra waste or large items at the side of the bin because we will not be able to collect them. If you have excess waste or a large item that will not fit in the bin, you can:
- Take it to one of the recycling points or recycling centres for disposal.
- Arrange a collection of bulky waste. There is a charge for this service.
