Organisations are being encouraged to apply for the Fairer Aberdeen Fund to help tackle poverty and deprivation across the city.
The Fairer Aberdeen Fund is allocated by Aberdeen City Council, which is dispersed by the Fairer Aberdeen Board to third sector organisations, charities and voluntary groups.
Councillor Alex McLellan, Convener of Finance and Resources Committee, who is also Chair of the Fairer Aberdeen Board, said: “Tackling poverty and inequality across Aberdeen remains a top priority for Aberdeen City Council and the Fairer Aberdeen Fund provides an opportunity for organisations to do great work helping individuals, families and communities who may be facing difficulties.
“I would encourage all organisations currently receiving funding, and any other organisations who believe they can make a positive impact in tackling poverty in our regeneration areas, to apply for funding for 2025/26 provided by Aberdeen City Council.”
The Fairer Aberdeen Board is made up of community representatives from priority areas and the Civic Forum, as well as representatives from the Council, Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership and Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO).
Last year, 38 initiatives were delivered across the city by 26 voluntary and third sector organisations, which supported over 50,000 people to access support for employability, financial inclusion, family support, youth work, mental health, learning and volunteering.
The Fund has supported organisations including Station House Media Unit (SHMU), Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE) and Pathways, who have all had projects awarded funding to help tackle poverty and inequality across Aberdeen.
Applications will be open until 31st January. To discuss whether your project is eligible for funding, or to request an application form, email faireraberdeenfund@aberdeencity.gov.uk
