Net Zero Aberdeen

A year of climate action highlighted

Over 3,500 homes have now been connected to the district heating network, as part of a number of actions taken to combat the climate and nature emergency.

A roundup of the year’s activity, supporting our journey to net zero and climate resilience was provided to members of the Net Zero, Environment and Transport committee today.

Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Climate change is happening now and it’s vital that we work with partners to reduce the impact.

“It’s important to review the action taken to date, and there is much more to do to meet our net zero ambitions.”

Vice-convenor of the Net Zero, Environment and Transport committee, Councillor Miranda Radley, added: “Addressing the climate and nature emergency not only affects the environment but also delivers social and economic benefits for the North East.”
