*This training is for professionals working in Aberdeen City*

 

During this multi agency training session, we will define domestic abuse and discuss the impact it can have on children and young people. We will discuss how to support a family experiencing domestic abuse and look in detail at the Safe and Together model. We will also discuss tools and resources appropriate for use with children who have experienced domestic abuse, before moving on to cover key legislation and guidance.

 

The aims of this training course are:

 

  • To increase professionals overall awareness of domestic abuse and the varied ways in which it can happen.
  • To increase professionals understanding of the impact domestic abuse has on the ‘non-offending parent’, children and young people.
  • To provide information which will aid professionals in supporting families and children affected by domestic abuse.
