Inspired Gallery Meets are for anyone over the age of 16. Meet in Aberdeen Art Gallery and take part in sketching, crafts and creative writing inspired by the Gallery’s collections and exhibitions.

Friday 15 March - Transfer Prints

Join mixed media artist Natalie Easton in this unique print making session.

Natalie will guide participants in creating striking collages by transferring images from magazines to paper using sticky tape. Consider composition, texture and shape to produce some  truly imaginative artworks.

Friday 19 April - Creative Writing

Using the Louise Bourgeois sculpture exhibition as inspiration, you will be guided through a series of prompts and exercises to create writing that explores the themes of family, parents, and the self.

There is no pressure to create a polished piece or to be the next Poet Laureate – this session is a chance to engage with the sculptures and explore writing creatively.

R S Kendle is a poet and writer from the north-east of Scotland. They hold a BA Honours in English Literature and Politics from the University Of Strathclyde. Friday 17 May - Mosaic Paper Crafts

Try your hand at some colourfully fun decorative collage techniques. Explore pattern design in this informal drop-in session, and learn how to turn your creations into striking wall hangings to brighten up your home.

Friday 21 June - Felt Brooches

Get inspired by spring time flowers and create vibrant felt brooches with jeweller Lynsey Allan. Try your hand at simple cutting, stitching and beading techniques. If florals aren’t you thing then have a go at designing something fun of your choosing to adorn your outfits.
