Visiting our Household Waste and Recycling Centres
Before you arrive:
- Note that you must be a resident of Aberdeen City to access our sites. Proof of ID must be shown on arrival.
- Please check the list of materials that you can dispose of at our sites.
- There is no pedestrian access to Bridge of Don or Tullos HWRC, you must arrive with waste in a vehicle to access these sites.
- Note that access is only available to vehicles under 3.5 tonnes. There is no access for tippers, tractors and diggers.
What to do on arrival:
- Having a booking does not give you priority, if there is a queue you will need to join it.
- You should remain in your vehicle whilst queuing for access and the engine should be switched off when the vehicle is stationary.
- A member of staff will check you in when you arrive on site, please have your Aberdeen City proof of address ready to show, this can be in paper or electronic format, and can be anything that shows your name and address, including postcode. Staff will then direct you to a location to park your vehicle to un-load. You should be able to deposit your waste in the skips unaided or with a passenger's assistance. If you do require help please ask staff who will assess the best option to offer assistance whilst maintaining social distancing; for example, they may ask you to move to a safe distance away from your vehicle.
- It is illegal to dispose of business and trade waste (including builders' waste) at Household Waste Recycling Centres. Staff will turn away any vehicles carrying commercial waste attempting to enter the sites.
