Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is a permanent record in memory of a loved one and is on display in the crematorium reception area. The book has a separate page for each day of the year and the pages are turned on a daily basis so that entries are visible on the anniversary of the date of death. The crematorium staff can help if you wish to view any other pages of the book.

  • Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm
  • Saturdays, Sunday and public holidays by prior appointment only - please call Aberdeen Crematorium using the details at the bottom of this page to make an appointment.
  • Closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day

The books of remembrance can be viewed online:

There is also a Book of Remembrance at the Hall of Remembrance in Kaimhill. You can add an entry to the book at either Kaimhill or Hazlehead. See the Memorials page for more information about adding an entry to the Book of Remembrance.

Garden of Remembrance

Bereaved families and visitors will find the large Garden of Remembrance tranquil and pleasant.

Ashes may be scattered in the Garden of Remembrance here at the crematorium or in the Garden of Remembrance by the Hall of Remembrance on Kaimhill Road. This can be done by crematorium staff, with or without family present, or by the family.

Ashes may be taken away by the family to scatter elsewhere (remember to consult the owner of the land). They may also be interred in a grave at a cemetery.

For the gardens to be sustainable, permanent memorials cannot be left. Instead, cut flowers with all plastics removed can be placed in the large vases supplied.

Memorial Chapel and Garden

The chapel and garden are situated just after the entrance and exit junction in the crematorium grounds.

Granite memorial plaques are displayed within the chapel, on the outside walls of the garden and on memorial planters. Visitors will find wooden memorial seats spread throughout these peaceful gardens. See the Memorials page for more information about the options available.

The gardens are open 9am to 4pm daily.
