Health and Safety enforcement in Aberdeen is split between Aberdeen City Council and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).  Different areas are regulated either by the local authority or the HSE.

Report a health and safety problem

We will respond to all matters of concern relating to health and safety issues in Aberdeen City Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm, excluding public holidays. Before you contact us, please check whether we are the appropriate enforcement authority.

You should contact the Health and Safety Executive if your query relates to the following types of workplaces:

  • factories
  • farms
  • building sites
  • mines
  • schools and colleges
  • fairgrounds
  • gas, electricity and water systems
  • hospitals and nursing homes
  • central and local government premises
  • offshore installations
