Important Information
- Aberdeen City Council is legally required to ensure that all volunteers have the right to live and work in the UK. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. Please see List A and B for further guidance.
- We will ensure that adequate levels of public liability and employer’s liability insurance, which includes volunteers, are maintained at all times. To comply with this, we are unable to accept volunteering applications from individuals under the age of 14. An exception applies for volunteers who are not yet 14 but are in the school year in which their peer group turn 14 for undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh.
- If any volunteering activity involves 1-2-1 contact with children or protected adults, it may be classed as “regulated work” and appropriate checks under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be required.
