If you do not have your bus lane enforcement notice number, please contact us. To comply with Data Protection requirements, you will be asked some details about the contravention before given the reference number. If you cannot answer these questions you will be asked to send us a copy of your V5C or hire/lease agreement.

Charges

The charge is discounted by 50% if you pay it within 14 days. After 14 days, the full amount will be due. You must pay it within 28 days, or we will take further action.

If you disagree with a bus lane enforcement charge notice

If you believe that you have been issued with a bus lane enforcement charge notice incorrectly, you must challenge it as soon as possible. See the Appeal a bus lane enforcement charge notice page for more information on how to do this.

If you do not pay a bus lane enforcement charge notice

We will issue a Charge Certificate to the registered keeper of a vehicle if:

  • The bus lane enforcement charge notice has not been paid or appealed within 28 days.
  • We have rejected your appeal and you have not paid the charge or submitted a further appeal to the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service within 28 days.

If you receive a Charge Certificate you must pay the increased fee of £90 (for contraventions prior to 22 May 2024) or £150 (for contraventions on or after 22 May 2024) within 14 days. If you do not pay within this timescale, we will pass your details to our debt collection agents. They will take action to collect the outstanding debt and may add additional fees.

Once your Bus Lane Enforcement Charge Notice has been passed to our debt collection agents, you must make payment directly to them using the details they provide when they get in touch with you.
