We are carrying out this survey to help us learn more about our audience and how we can give you the best possible experience. AAGM believes that every individual should have an equal opportunity to access, benefit from and enjoy its work, whatever their background, culture or identity, and no matter how they encounter the organisation. Visitor responses to the survey will help AAGM learn more about our audiences and understand how we can meet the needs of everyone equally.

The survey also asks questions about you. This information is voluntary. By providing this information you help us monitor the statistical data to ensure the Council in interacting in balance way with groups of people with protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

How long we keep your information for

We will keep statistical data until it is superseded. You will not be identifiable from this information. 

Your rights

You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have and how they work in practice, as well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data properly. 

Our legal basis

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Wherever we process personal data, we must have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council understand our legal basis as being part of our public tasks.

In doing so we also process special categories of personal data, should you choose to provide equality and diversity information. The Councils legal basis for doing so is that it is necessary for reasons of substantial interest, of the purpose of equality monitoring.
