How we use your information
The Environmental Health Training Centre is part of Protective Services at Aberdeen City Council and provides training courses to a range of private customers across a range of work sectors.
We use your information for the purpose of administering the course and contacting you about the course you have enrolled in.
On occasion, the data generated from courses may be used for monitoring and quality assurance, this data will not be identifiable to any specific individual or organisation.
Who we share your information with
In order to provide you with access to the course content we will share your name and email address with the online course platform provider.
We will share your information with the Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland (REHIS) who is the registration body for the courses provided. This is for the purposes generating and issuing your course pass certificate.
How long we keep your information for
We will keep your information including exam papers for 1 year. Financial records will be kept for the current year plus six years.
We will keep statistical information for reporting purposes for 5 years. This will not include any personal information that can identify you.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Wherever we process personal data, we must have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council understand our legal basis for processing your data as being necessary for the delivery of a service under contract.
In doing so we are likely to process special categories of personal data about you. The Council understands our legal basis for doing so as being necessary for reasons of substantial public interest.
