Aberdeen City Council approves allowance rise for carers and adopters
08 September 2016
Carers and adopters in Aberdeen were given a 1% rise in allowances today (Thursday 8 September).
Aberdeen City Council’s Education and Children’s Services Committee approved the rises for foster carers, kinship carers and adopters as well as the same rise in payment for skills fees, Reporting Officer fees and supported lodgings.
All the costs will be met by the existing budget and recognises the continuing rise in costs of living in Aberdeen.
Angela Taylor, Convener of the Education and Children’s Services Committee at Aberdeen City Council said: “We are delighted to continue honouring our commitment to our carers and adopters by providing year on year rises in allowances in recognition of the valuable services they provide”.
