Aberdeen City Council is a winner in the RoSPA Awards 2016

Aberdeen City Council has achieved a Silver award in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.

The annual awards scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and is now is its 60th year.

Cllr Gordon Graham, Vice Chairperson of the Aberdeen City Council Corporate Health and Safety Committee said “ The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff is of the utmost importance to everyone at Aberdeen City Council. This award proves the hard work carried out by the council makes a difference to our staff and working environment.

I would like to congratulate the teams responsible for ensuring we maintain our high safety standards and for winning the Silver RoSPA award.”

These internationally recognised awards are a much sought after accolade by organisations from every sector, offering the opportunity to prove ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.

The awards scheme, is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
