Aberdeen City Council launches Summer in the City 2017

06 June 2017

It might be weather for ducks but Aberdeen City Council is bringing a splash of sunshine rather than rain today (Tuesday 6 June) for children, young people and families with the launch of Summer in the City 2017.

The online brochure produced by the Family Information Service team has an interactive diary page so people can plan their summer activities from a marvellous range of options, many of them free, available throughout the city before and during the holidays.

With intriguing titles like Gangsta Granny, See the World in Aberdeen, Dune Divers, 3D Selfie and Mutiny, there is something for everyone from sporting activities, such swimming, mountain biking and athletics, to playgroups, dolphin watching, family walks and creative classes. And there are plenty of indoor activities just in case!

Gayle Gorman, Director of Education and Children’s Services, said: “There is a fantastic offering of activities this year for toddlers right through to older teenage children. Our young people are in for a fun time this summer!

“With its colour coding, photography and interactive diary section the online brochure is ideal for easy viewing on phones, tablets and computer screens.”
