Aberdeen nativity welcomes two new additions

A message of “hope and joy” will be at the heart of this year’s nativity scene in St Nicholas Kirkyard when it opens to the public on Monday 30 November.

The display, marking the start of Advent, will welcome a new baby Jesus and a new donkey to the traditional and much-loved scene.

The Depute Provost of Aberdeen Jennifer Stewart said: “The nativity gives us the special opportunity to take time out and focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

“The message of joy and hope that the nativity represents is something that everyone in the city can appreciate, particularly this year. Peace and goodwill to all.”

The Nativity scene will be open daily, from dawn to dusk, until 6 January 2021.

This year’s Winter Events Programme has been altered to take account of to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and Scottish Government guidance on public safety.
