Beach clean up on Saturday

A clean-up of Aberdeen beach has been organised for Saturday (30 Jan) to help tidy up debris from the recent storms.
The event has been organised by members of the community with equipment provided by Aberdeen City Council, and Aberdeen Sea Cadets is providing hot refreshments.
Communities, Housing and Infrastructure Committee Convener Councillor Neil Cooney said:"This is great to see the people of Aberdeen organising to help tidy up the beach after the recent storms.
"It is efforts such as these which shows what great community spirit we have in the city and their efforts are to be applauded."
People are asked to meet on the beach footpath at the subway entrance at groyn 16, from 10am or pitch up any time after then.
Equipment is provided including gloves, high vis vests, refuse bags, about litter picker sticks. Participants are asked to wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing and bring old gardening type gloves.
Tea and coffee provided by Aberdeen Sea Cadets at their building in Footdee after the clean.
