Construction work at Provost Skene's House

04 November 2016

Work is currently being undertaken around Provost Skene's House in line with the existing planning permission and listed building consent and which will have no impact on the structure of the house.

The works include resurfacing and landscaping as well as the removal and replacement of the existing external stair and retaining wall. This is to allow a gas supply into the building

It should be noted that the existing courtyard archway is due to be carefully dismantled and rebuilt in line with Flourmill Lane forming part of the new main entrance to Provost Skene's. Again this is in accordance with the existing planning permission and listed building consent.

Provost Skene’s House is to be given a £1.5million refurbishment to become a mayor city centre attraction and will feature interactive digital installations and audio features alongside more traditional museum displays.
