Council advises alternatives to East Tullos Recycling Centre as essential gas supply works restrict road access

Aberdeen City Council has today (5 January) advised users of the Greenbank Crescent Household Waste Recycling Centre to use the city’s four other centres from 5.30am on 9 January onwards as essential pipeline works by Scotland Gas Networks (SGN) will prevent road access.

The restrictions are likely to be in place until 10pm on 17 February while SGN undertake an urgent programme of works on the existing gas network.

Councillor Jean Morrison, Zero Waste Sub-committee said: “Although the essential upgrade work being undertaken by SGN makes the Greenbank Crescent Household Waste Recycling Centre off limits to traffic for the time being, we are in the fortunate position of being able to offer four alternative facilities across Aberdeen.

“Our advice to householders who normally use Greenbank Crescent is to visit these facilities to recycle their household waste and continue to contribute to our Zero Waste ambitions”.

The four alternative Household Waste Recycling Centres in Aberdeen are at:

· Pitmedden Road, Dyce, AB210DP

· Perwinnes Moss, Scotstown Road, Bridge of Don, AB22 8NJ

· Sclattie, off Bankhead Road, Bucksburn, AB21 9ET

· Grove, Hazlehead Avenue, AB15 3BJ
