Enhanced Security at BP Big Screens in Duthie Park

Leading up to BP Big Screens on Tuesday 4 July, Aberdeen City Council would like to make the public aware that there will be bag searches at the event at Duthie Park.

This is an additional security measure in the interest of public safety and not in reaction to any new information or threat to Scotland or the event.

There will be a secure zone for visitors to pass through on entering the viewing area. General visitors to the park will not be affected.

The screen will go live at 6.30pm with the curtain up and opera beginning at 7.00pm, so visitors are reminded to allow plenty time for entering the park.

Picnics and portable seating are welcome in the park but no barbecues or naked flames are allowed. A selection of hot and cold soft drinks and baked goods will be available to purchase.

The alcohol by-law on drinking in public places will be lifted between 6pm and 11pm however alcohol can only be consumed on the main grass area of the Duthie Park.
