Paris Statement

Aberdeen City Council Leader Councillor Jenny Laing said: "Following the tragic events which unfolded in Paris on Friday evening, Aberdeen City Council is taking part in the minute's silence held across Europe today (Monday) at 11am, to honour the victims.

"Marischal College is also to be lit up with colours of the national flag of France, the Tricolore, this evening, and a book of condolence is available for people to sign at the reception at the Town House.

"Aberdeen has close ties with France throughout history, and particularly in recent times with the oil and gas sector. Our deepest sympathies go to the victims and their families at this time."
