Volunteers at one of Aberdeen's most popular parksĀ have beenĀ given a special thank you.

A total of 11 volunteers had given more than 860 hours in total of their time over the past year to help out at Duthie Park.

A reception was held by Aberdeen City Council and Friends of Duthie Park for the Park Force Volunteers at the Old Bowling Pavilion.

Aberdeen City Council Communities, Housing and Infrastructure Vice Convener Councillor Jean Morrison said: "The volunteers play such a big part of the park family, and the work they've carried out in the community garden shows their commitment and skill.

"So many of the volunteers have gone onto employment, some into horticulture, so it's fantastic the volunteering has helped with that.

"Everyone involved in Duthie Park helps to make it one of the jewels in the city's garden crown and the volunteers are particularly to be praised as they give their own time and effort.

Also thanked at the event was the help given by organisations including ACVO, Friends of Duthie Park, Aberdeen Rock Garden Club, RHSA, ConocoPhllips, and Aberdeen City Council's tree squad.
