30 January 2018
Renowned international speaker Paul Collard will appear at a mini-symposium, co-hosted by Aberdeen City Council’s Creative Learning Team and the University of Aberdeen, next week.
The session on creativity and employability takes place at the University’s New Kings Lecture Theatre from 4-6pm on Wednesday 7 February and brings together students, teachers, professional and creative people with an interest in workforce issues.
Councillor John Wheeler, Aberdeen City Council's Education and Children’s Services Convener, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to Aberdeen for what I’m sure will be a lively and informative event.
“This is a great opportunity for the sharing of ideas among students and professionals and to discuss the importance of creativity in employability and teaching practice in the 21st century.”
Dr Elizabeth Curtis, Lecturer University of Aberdeen School of Education said “I am very pleased we are partnering with Aberdeen City Council Creative Learning team on this project. I believe it will help develop my students as we prepare them to enter the workforce as educators. I also feel that the potential links with trainee and professional creatives as well as more established teachers will be invaluable.”
This event is free to attend – but places must be booked via Eventbrite as demand is anticipated to be high.
