ACC leaders remind residents to be vigilant in tier 2

08 December 2020

Aberdeen City Council’s Co-Leaders today asked residents to keep being vigilant in the fight against Covid-19 to ensure the city avoids moving into tier 3 restrictions.

Councillors Jenny Laing and Douglas Lumsden encouraged people to continue adhering to the government rules and guidance to keep virus numbers going down as it was revealed the city is to remain in tier 2.

Cllr Laing said: “Whilst residents and businesses have on the whole been doing a good job adhering to the rules and guidance, it is vital that we do not become complacent in the run up to Christmas and over the festive period.

“If we are to prevent further community transmission of the virus, it is important that we all remain vigilant and each and every one of us continues to adhere to the government guidelines as we go about our day to day lives.

“We want everyone to stay safe and for the city and its residents to avoid moving into tier 3 restrictions.”

Cllr Lumsden said: “It would be fantastic if we can all continue to work together for the common good and ideally drive the numbers of Covid-19 incidences down with the aim of getting to tier 1.”
