Aberdeen City Council to support Noise Awareness Week
17 May 2018
Aberdeen City Council is next week supporting a UK- wide event aimed at highlighting the problems associated with noise pollution.
Aberdeen City Council’s Protective Services team has updated its Noise Leaflet and this is now appearing on the council’s website. The leaflet helps identify the types of noise disturbances the Environmental Health team will investigate and how members of the public can make contact with the team if they are affected by intrusive noise.
Noise Pollution Week, coordinated by Environmental Protection UK, runs from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 May and focuses on the public health impact of neighbourhood noise.
The event provides opportunities for local authorities and communities to raise awareness and provide practical advice on how noise can be lessened.
Aberdeen City Council will also be highlighting the issue with a series of social messages throughout the week
