Aberdeen residents to have their say with release of City Voice questionnaire
The 40th City Voice questionnaire has been issued to members of the Citizens Panel to seek their opinions on a wide range of topics that affect day to day life in Aberdeen – with an open invite to all residents to take part.
There are currently around 900 panellists and they are asked to complete three questionnaires per year. The results of the surveys are used to shape policy, measure performance and plan future service delivery.
In previous years, only members of the Citizens Panel could complete the questionnaire. However, following a successful pilot project during the last issue, this edition will again be available to any resident, aged 16 and over, to take part by accessing it online.
The City Voice is an initiative by the Community Planning Aberdeen Partnership which includes Aberdeen City Council, Police Scotland, Fire and Rescue Scotland, NHS Grampian and Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations.
Aberdeen City Council Leader Councillor Jenny Laing, Chair of Community Planning Aberdeen, said: “The City Voice questionnaire gives local people an ideal opportunity to make their voice heard on a wide range of important issues that impact on Aberdeen, which in turn can help shape the future of our city.
“This initiative along with the other work undertaken by the partnership is a vital element of the community planning process as it ensures we work closely with not only our residents but also the other partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes for our city.”
Each questionnaire focuses on different topics and themes throughout the year and in this issue panellists are asked to give their opinion on subjects including road maintenance, climate adaption, carers, fuel switching and community safety.
Together with the questionnaire, a summary of the results of the 39th City Voice questionnaire has also been published. The summary shows responses to questions about equality and diversity, community justice, the NHS Grampian website and children’s’ services.
The results summary and a more detailed report can be accessed online at www.aberdeencityvoice.org.uk or hard copies can be obtained from the reception of Marischal College, Aberdeen Central Library or at the four Customer Access Points located across Aberdeen.
