Acclaimed author to visit Airyhall Library this week

A critically acclaimed historical author will discuss his work at Airyhall Library this weekend as part of Aberdeen City Libraries’ ongoing 125th anniversary celebrations.

Douglas Jackson spent 36 years in journalism before leaving The Scotsman in 2009 to become a full-time writer. He has written ten historical novels and four thrillers (under the name James Douglas) and his novels have been published in twelve languages. His latest book, Glory of Rome, the eighth Gaius Valerius Verrens adventure, was published in August 2017.

The author will visit Airyhall Library later this Saturday (9 September) week to discuss his work, new book Glory of Rome and the Battle of Mons Grampius between the Romans and Caledonians, which many authors believe to have taken place in Aberdeenshire.
