An Afternoon with Emma Fraser

Dyce Library is to host a free talk by Emma Fraser, an author whose novels are based in wartime Scotland and influenced by real events in the country's history.

The event is part of the celebrations to mark the 125th anniversary of Aberdeen’s Central Library, and will take place on Saturday 15th July 2017 at 2.30pm.

Emma says “In order to imagine a better future we must first understand the past”. She will discuss the historical aspects of her novels, her inspiration and why she chooses to set her novels in Scotland.

Emma's work includes “When the Dawn Breaks”, published in 2013, and “We Shall Remember”, published in 2014. Her latest novel, “The Shipbuilder's Daughter”, is set in 1920s Scotland and tells the story of a shipyard owner's daughter faced with an impossible decision.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing, with copies of her titles available to purchase.
