Councillor John Wheeler, Education Operational Delivery Convener, said: “We are enormously proud of our partnership with the Scottish Football Association at Hazlehead Academy, one of only seven performance schools in Scotland. We have already helped develop the talents of several young players to the extent that they have represented Scotland at youth level. Not only that, but Hazlehead Academy’s Dean Campbell also set an Aberdeen FC record as the youngest person ever to play for the Dons first team.

“Boys and girls attending the performance school are also guaranteed a first-class education at Hazlehead, with player-pupils achieving outstanding academic results off the field”.
