Bin collections over the festive period

18 December 2017

Residents in Aberdeen were today advised that if their waste or recycling bins were due to be picked up on Christmas or New Year’s Day, they would instead be picked up the Saturday before.

So, the 25 December collection would instead be picked up on 23 December, and the 31 December collection would be picked up on 30 December. Collections due on Boxing Day and 2 January will be carried out as usual.

The bin collection services will be operating at a reduced level over the festive period so collections so there maybe delays in some areas.

Residents are reminded to recycle as much as possible over the festive period including wrapping paper, cardboard, bottles and cans. We cannot recycle glitter or foil wrapping paper, bows or ribbons however.

People are encouraged to reduce or recycle their food waste, and the website www.lovefoodhatewaste.com has helpful hints and recipes.
