Blessing of City Centre Christmas Crib

25 November 2016
A blessing service for the Christmas Crib in the grounds of St Nicholas Kirkyard will be held at 11am on Monday 28 November.
Members of Aberdeen Churches Together and Aberdeen City Council Councillor Martin Greig, who will represent the Lord Provost, will be joined by local school children for the short service.
Carols will be led by pupils from Holy Family RC School, Robert Gordon’s College Junior School, St Joseph’s RC School and St Peter’s RC School.
The Lord Provost of Aberdeen George Adam said: “The message of joy and hope that the nativity represents is something that everyone in the city can appreciate. It’s a busy time of year for many people, but it’s important we take the time to think about the meaning of the Christmas story whilst we celebrate with our friends and family.”
Refreshments are kindly provided in St Nicholas Kirk following the service.
The Christmas Crib Blessing Service is one of the many events being held during Aberdeen’s Winter Festival, which this year is the biggest the city has ever had.
