29 November 2017

Braehead School celebrated Book Week Scotland today (Wednesday 29 November) with four paws rather than a foreword today when police dog Bruce joined in a special reading session for pupils.

The 18 month old Sprocker Spaniel joined his handler Police Scotland Constable Steve Warden and Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson who read to Primary 3 and Primary 4 classes at the school.

Book Week Scotland runs until Saturday 2 December and offers a selection of free events and activities for all ages across Aberdeen City Libraries.

Aberdeen City Council’s Convener of Education and Children’s Services Committee Councillor John Wheeler said: “By hosting special events with renowned authors and special sessions for children we want to encourage all ages to experience and enjoy the benefits of reading.
