Call goes out to Aberdeen’s potential foster carers
13 May 2019
A special information event for potential foster carers is taking place at Airyhall Community Centre this Wednesday (15 May).
The event which takes place between 4.30 and 6.30pm at the centre on Countesswells Road will give visitors the opportunity to speak to foster carers and members of the council’s recruitment team and ask questions about fostering.
Councillor John Wheeler, Education Operational Delivery Convener, said: “Locally-based foster carers play a vital role in ensuring that our children, young people and families experience the best outcomes possible.
“I would encourage anyone who has been considering foster caring to come along to what I know will be an informative and rewarding evening.”
Peter Melrose, Development Officer at Who Cares? Scotland’s office in Aberdeen, said: “Care experienced young people all deserve a lifetime of equality, respect and love. Young people say that the stability, nurture and care provided by foster cares is often the one thing that made the difference for them”.
