15 December 2016

As part of the Christmas Carol Concert at the David Welch Winter Gardens in Aberdeen this weekend, the Friends of Duthie Park are having a collection on behalf of food banks across the city and would welcome donations.

The group is appealing for visitors to bring: Tinned, packaged or jars of food; toiletries; saple items such as tea, coffee and sugar. CFine will distribute all donations to those who need support at Christmas.

Donations can be brought to the Christmas Carol Concert on Saturday(17 December) and be handed to the Friends stall at the front entrance of the Winter Gardens. Donations can alternatively be left at the main office in the Winter Gardens or at the Duthie Park Rangers Office at the Old Pavilion. All those making donations will be entered into free prize draw.

Entertainment at this weekend's event will be provided by Bon Accord Silver Band supported by the Capriccio Choir from Albyn School. There will be concerts at 11am and 2pm, with the Granite City Chorus providing some additional festive cheer 30 minutes before each performance.
