Creative Learning nurtures artist from pupil to professional
23 May 2017
Aberdeen City Council’s Creative Learning team have released a brand new set of fine art classes to inspire the public. Inspirational Artists is one of these new classes and the tutor, artist Caitlin Hynes, reflected on how important it was for artists to learn about other artists: “I was really lucky to have that opportunity to see what art can be and how it can engage you.”
Creative Learning are excited for Caitlin to lead this course as she started her career as a student in the same project she is now teaching on. Caitlin attended Creative Learning courses as an enthusiastic schoolchild before studying at Grays School of Art. She came back into contact with Creative Learning when she took a career development programme on Sustaining Life as a Creative. Her Inspirational Artists course will guide participants to look at contemporary artworks and make their own.
The class is part of Creative Learning’s Make Your Mark programme which is designed to inspire and encourage Aberdeen citizens to participate in the arts. It runs from May 24th on a Wednesday morning (10-12.30) at Rosemount Community Centre and must be booked and paid for in advance by calling 01224611160.
