Duthie Park hosts free gardening workshop

09 November 2016

Dr Jane Bingham, the former Head Gardener at the Beechgrove Garden, is leading a workshop for green-fingered enthusiasts in Aberdeen on Sunday 20 November.

The free workshop at Duthie Park will cover identifying different types of seeds and how to store them as well as a question and answer session on fruit and veg storage.

Dr Bingham was Head Gardener for the popular BBC programme before moving to the production team. She now writes for Amateur Gardener and has maintained a practical role with plants by working at The Mains of Drum.

Attendees are asked to bring any seeds they may have along with an envelope or paper bag and a pen. Those joining the session are also invited to take along any examples of fruit and veg with storage rots, shriveling or other issues to highlight problems and for Jane to offer solutions.

The workshop will take place from 1.00-3.00pm in the Education Glasshouse in the David Welch Winter Gardens at Duthie Park and is open to all. Booking is essential.
