Emergency Road closures due to surface water
29 November 2019
Due to a large amount of surface water flowing onto and flooding both Kirk Brae and Blacktop Road, and with freezing temperatures forecasted over this weekend, Aberdeen City Council’s roads team will enforce emergency road closures from 11am today (Friday 29 November).
The closures will be on Kirk Brae between Ladyhill Road and Countesswells Road and on the Blacktop Road between Baillieswells Road and Bishopdams Road. Access to properties will be maintained.
Meantime the City Council’s roads team will continue to pursue the owners of the land adjacent to these roads to request that they prevent water flowing onto the public road under the Roads Scotland Act (1984).
The road closures will be lifted either when there is no risk of freezing or there is no water on the affected roads.
