Enhanced Security at Aberdeen’s Highland Games

15 June 2017
Leading up to Aberdeen’s Highland Games this weekend, Aberdeen City Council would like to make the public aware that there will be bag searches at the event at Hazlehead Park.
This is an additional security measure at the entrance for public safety and not in reaction to any new information or threat to Scotland or the event.
Visitors should allow extra time to enter the games if wishing to see the children’s stage shows first performance at 11.30am or a particular piping, dancing or highland games event. Event times can be found at aberdeencity.gov.uk/highland games
Organisers recommend purchasing your ticket in advance from Eventbrite.com to speed up entry to the event.
The line-up for this year includes all the traditional events such as tossing the caber, tug o’war and athletic events. Included in the ticket price is children’s stage show ‘Highland Fling’ by Funbox, former members of the Singing Kettle. Plus there’s segways, climbing wall, inflatables, trade and charity stalls and more. Full details at http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/highlandgames
