Festive extensions to licensed premises

28 November 2018

Licensed restaurants, bistros, pubs and clubs in Aberdeen are to have an extra hour of opening on several dates over the festive season.

Aberdeen City Licensing Board agreed to the extension under section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 at a meeting on 16 November.

The order means that all on-sales premises with the exception of casinos, whose standard hours conform to the daily 15-hour maximum trading period as per the Licensing Board’s Statement of Licensing Policy, may extend the licensed hours by one hour beyond the usual terminal hour.

The extension applies on the following dates - Friday 14 and Saturday 15 December 2018, Friday 21 and Saturday 22 December 2018, Monday 24 December 2018, Wednesday 26 December 2018, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 December 2018, and Monday 31 December 2018.

Premises licence holders who qualify for these additional hours do not require to make any extended hours applications for these dates.

There is no obligation placed on licence holders to take advantage of these extensions should they not wish to do so.
