Free business event showcases sustainable transport opportunities in key Aberdeen commercial zones

13 March 2019

The promotion of active and sustainable travel in the Altens, Tullos and North Dee industrial and business zones will be at the heart of an event next week.

A business breakfast on Wednesday, March 20, will turn the spotlight on the free support on offer to businesses and organisations in those areas to enhance travel planning for employees. Those who travel to work in this area are invited to attend in order to share their journey experiences.

Walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing feature as part of the project being led by Nestrans and delivered in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council. European funding from the CIVITAS PORTIS programme has been awarded.

Councillor Sandra Macdonald, Aberdeen City Council’s transport spokesperson, said: “It is important that key areas are easier to access and this event will help gather views on transport and the improvements that people would like to see. It’s also an opportunity to share information on the excellent work being done in the areas of sustainable and active travel, with a focus on Tullos, Altens and the North Dee business quarter.”

This month’s session will take place at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel and is free to attend, running from 7am to 8.30am. To register visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/nestrans-18541036057 .
