Garden waste permit applications open
12 July 2021
From today (Monday 12 July) residents can apply for a 2021/22 garden waste permit for the brown bin service.
The permit lets bin collection crews know that the household has paid its annual £30 subscription for up to two bins for their garden waste to be collected. Residents can also apply for a third garden waste bin for an additional £30.
Residents who do not have garden waste or do not want to pay for the collection should keep their brown bin for recycling food waste, for which there is no charge.
The new subscription year begins on 1 September 2021 and runs until 31 August 2022. Once the online application is accepted, the permit will be posted within 21 days. Residents are asked not to put their new permit on top of previous year’s as it will not stick. The new permit must stick directly to the surface of the brown bin.
The Council will contact residents who have previously purchased a permit informing them how they can apply for the 2021/22 permit.
Garden waste permits can only be bought online, and residents who need support doing so can ask a friend, family member or support worker to act on their behalf.
Customers can also phone Aberdeen City Council’s customer contact centre on 03000 200 292 for support or to make a telephone appointment for more support if needed.
