Happy birthday Kincorth Library!
10 July 2017
Aberdeen City Libraries celebrate two anniversaries this summer, the 125th anniversary of the Central Library and 50th anniversary of Kincorth Library. To mark these special anniversaries, three events are taking place at Kincorth Library.
‘History of the Library Service Special: Kincorth Library’ takes place on Thursday 13th July at 2pm. This is a free illustrated talk about the history of the Central Library, Kincorth Library and the Kincorth Garden Estate.
For those aged 5 to 11, join Library Lady for superhero stories and activities. You can also come dressed as your favourite superhero! “Stories with Library Lady” takes place on Friday 14th July at 2.30pm.
An ‘Illustration Workshop with Kate Leiper’ takes place on Monday 17th July at 2.30pm. Kate will discuss the techniques she uses to illustrate characters and support participants in creating and developing their own characters. The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 13 and over and will be followed by a book signing, with copies of Kate’s titles available to purchase.
All of the events are free but booking is essential. Contact Kincorth library at Kincorthlibrary@aberdeencity.gov.uk or call 01224 872572 to reserve a place.
