Local Paralympian and commonwealth gold winner returns home to celebrate cycling achievements

Scottish Paralympic cycling legend Neil Fachie MBE, will host two sessions in Aberdeen City Centre on Thursday 17 May as part of the city's Tour Series celebrations.
A twelve-time world champion, three-time Paralympic games medallist and four-time commonwealth games medallist; Neil will be talking about his cycling experiences and overcoming obstacles to achieve success as part of the fringe activities around the Ovo Energy Tour Series returning to the city this month.
Neil said: “I am really looking forward to my trip back home to Aberdeen and sharing some insight and a few stories from my cycling career, particularly my recent wins at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Aberdeen is such a fantastic city and I’m delighted to be part of this year’s OVO Energy Tour Series”.
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Jenny Laing said: “In the last few years, we have made a concerted effort to raise the city’s profile through our ambitious events programme. Bringing The OVO Energy Tour Series back to Aberdeen, in conjunction with EventScotland and as part of our Aberdeen 365 Events Strategy, a City Centre Masterplan initiative, will further strengthen Aberdeen’s position as a must-visit destination for high-profile cultural and sporting events”.
