New festive lighting for Aberdeen
25 May 2017
New circles for festive lighting on Union Street have been approved at the City Council’s communities, housing and infrastructure committee.
The five inserts costing up to £60,000 would have improved animation and would also be allowed to be installed separately at different times of the year to promote other festivals such as Offshore Europe or Spectra.
The improved animation could be in either words or graphics, a report to the committee members said.
The new features will be computer controlled and would digital LEDs, allowing them to be used for many different messages.
