New swings for Duthie Park

14 March 2018

One of the most popular playparks in Aberdeen is to get new swings, in time for the Easter holidays.

All of the old T swings from both play areas at Duthie Park are being removed this week in preparation for the installation of new swings.

Aberdeen City Council staff are working closely with contractors to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum but it is likely the scale of refurbishment may cause some inconvenience. Both play areas have seen the installation of lots of new equipment in the last few years and most of it will still be available while work is ongoing.

New rubber surfacing will be installed, and a few other smaller maintenance jobs will be carried out at the same time.

An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said: “We aim to have both sites in Duthie Park complete and open to the public in time for the Easter holidays and we’re sure youngsters will enjoy playing on the new swings.”
