Pets’ Corner now top holiday destination (for a lamb)!
27 March 2018
A cute wee lamb has chosen a top Abaa-rdeen destination for his Easter holidays – Pets’ Corner!
The nameless little cutie who normally lives on a nearby farm is looking forward to having a woolly good time at the Hazlehead Park facility with his mum and twin sister.
The little lamb isn’t being fed well by his mum as he’s competing with his sister so staff at Pets’ Corner agreed to hand-feed him for a couple of weeks to let him build his strength up.
However, he is so little – he was born only a few weeks ago – that it was agreed his mum and sister could visit along with him for companion-sheep.
Aberdeen City Council operational delivery convener Councillor John Wheeler said: “We hope everyone ‘flocks’ to see him while he’s here on his holidays with this mum and sister, and I’m sure there will be lots of youngsters looking out for when the staff are hand-feeding him.
“We have two rams here already at Pets’ Corner along with our other more exotic animals so there’s plenty for people to see including the ever-popular meerkats, tropical fish, and reptiles in our Tropical House.”
Other animal attractions at Pets’ Corner include alpacas, a kune kune pig, geese, turkey, chickens, sheep, goats, Shetland pony, miniature donkeys, budgies, ducks, finches, guinea fowl, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, Vadar the albino Burmese python, and Gethin the pygmy goat.
Opening hours for Pets’ Corner are 10am to 3.15pm to 31 March, and 10am to 5.30pm, from April to September.
Admission prices are £3 for adults, £1 for child 3 to 16 years: free for children under 3 years, £6 for a family pass – 2 adults and 3 children or 1 adult and 4 children, £2 for Access to Leisure or Concession, educational groups (£1.50 adult and 50p for child 3-16 years), and £30 for a yearly family pass.
