Premises Licence Fees

22 September 2016

All alcohol premises licence holders in Aberdeen are being reminded that they must pay their annual premises licence fee by 1st October 2016 or risk revocation of their licence.

Payment of the annual fee is a mandatory condition of any premises licence. There are presently 659 premises licences in Aberdeen held by a variety of businesses including shops, bars and restaurants.

Failure to pay the fee by 1st October 2016 is a breach of one of the premises licence mandatory conditions and may lead to the Licensing Board carrying out a review of the licence. This could ultimately result in sanctions being imposed including suspension of the licence or, at worst, revocation.

Letters were issued in August this year to all premises licence holders reminding them of the duty to make payment of the annual fee. Payment can be made online at http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/home/pay_it.asp.

Councilor Marie Boulton, Convener of the Licensing Board said “The payment of the annual fee is an essential requirement of every alcohol licence. We are delighted this year to be able to offer licence holders the convenience of online payments for the first time.”

Licence holders who have any questions about their annual fee should contact Aberdeen City Council’s licensing team by email at licensing@aberdeencity.gov.uk
