Something FINE this Christmas

23 November 2017

Organic growers, distillers, farm shops, craft bakers, bespoke confectionary, chutneys, oils, sauces and seasonal pickles…just a taste of what’s on the menu at FINE Christmas Food and Drink Market this weekend.

The festive food and drink market, curated and produced by SMART Art Agency in collaboration with Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired, and supported by Elevator and Business Gateway promises to tell the story of the North-East by celebrating local producers, offering visitors delicious artisan produce.

Aberdeen City Council Culture Spokesperson Marie Boulton said: “FINE is bringing an exceptional selection of the finest food and drink producers in the North-East to Marischal College Quad.

“We are delighted to be working with our partners Aberdeen Inspired, SMART Art Agency, Elevator and Business Gateway to bring this delicious festive offering.

“Collaborative working is vital to the success of events such as FINE Christmas Food and Drink Market, and through our Aberdeen 365 Events Programme, partnerships such as these demonstrate the commitment of our local and national partners in supporting our vision of development and sustainability of the city.

“FINE demonstrates the wealth of talent in the food and drink industry and Aberdeen City Council is committed to working with local partners to foster these businesses”.

Adrian Watson, CEO of Aberdeen Inspired said: “Aberdeen Inspired listened to feedback from previous years and we are delighted that the best of the North East will be showcasing their produce this weekend at FINE Christmas Food and Drink Market. We’re excited to see the variation that local and independent businesses will bring to Marischal Quad and we hope the public come out in their crowds to support it”.

Ian Pithie, Project Manager for FINE said: “SMART are delighted to be able to bring such a fine selection of local producers from across the region to be showcased in the scenic setting of Marischal College Quad.

“As an independent art agency in the city, it is important for us to support our fellow local independent businesses who are crucial in bringing variation and vitality to our town centres and high streets. Let’s support them this festive season by shopping local and coming along to FINE Christmas Food & Drink Market”.

The Market will not only feel like the start of Aberdeen’s festive season but it also promises to showcase some of our brightest stars within our growing regional food and drink industry.
