Recruitment Events for 2025

The Kinship, Adoption and Fostering Services will be running a number of informal Recruitment Events throughout the year.

Further details will be shared prior to each event. If you are available to assist at any of these, then please let us know by emailing AFAdmin@aberdeencity.gov.uk as this will contribute towards your competencies, supporting the ongoing development of the Kinship, Adoptions & Fostering Service.

We also continue to run our referral scheme for new foster carers, please speak to your Supervising Social Worker for more details.

Talking Teenagers

On our calendar you will also see dates for our Talking Teenagers sessions on Tuesday mornings & Wednesday evenings, we cover a different topic each month and attending counts towards CPD. These are all done via Microsoft Teams.

How to book training provided by Kinship, Adoption and Fostering Services

Review our full training calendar, month by month for any sessions you are interested in.

For any training you wish to attend, please email AFAdmin@aberdeencity.gov.uk with:

Your full name
Your role and any social worker from the teams you are linked with.
The date & course(s) you would like to be booked onto

Alternatively, you can call 01224 067604 during office hours (Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00)

If you try to book a place on a course at full capacity your name will be added to the waiting list, and you will be notified in the event of a cancellation. If you do not receive a place on your preferred course, you will be notified of additional dates as they become available through the calendar.

How to cancel training

We ask that you provide 48 hours notice to cancel training. Places are limited on each course!

We understand depending on the circumstances this may be difficult to avoid, however we would appreciate advanced notice where possible.
